Overview

The Assistant Extrusion Manager, through direct leadership of the supervision team, will ensure that all scheduling and production needs of extrusion are achieved.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assists extrusion manager in planning, managing and executing production operations;
  • Coordinates and plans production priorities, workflow and schedule;
  • Develops or updates standard operating procedures and best practices for production operations;
  • Leads, manages and develops the extrusion department associates;
  • Optimizes production operations to meet quality and performance standards;
  • Attends daily and weekly meetings in order to communicate progress in the department;
  • Works closely with the managers in other departments to help achieve goals;
  • Ensures supervisors are leading the extrusion department successfully;
  • Ensures proper training facilitation to keep extrusion associates skills up to date;
  • Provides input regarding employee evaluations;
  • Addresses employee concerns or complaints in a professional manner;
  • Assists in determining equipment allocation or repairs and cost-optimization initiatives;
  • Assists in dedicated product trials to improve quality and efficiency /throughput.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in degree in design, engineering, technical engineering, operations or a related field;
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience;
  • Preferred proficiency in Excel;
  • Proven experience as an extrusion supervisor or similar role;
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills;
  • Familiar with manufacturing, safety and quality process concepts, practices, and procedures;
  • Understands extrusion production systems, processes and flow paths. Can analyze the problem, synthesize alternative solutions, and supervise through until desired results are achieved;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Ability to work within a team and assist in maintaining a team environment;
  • Strong time management skills;
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills;
  • Detail oriented.
