Overview
The Packing and Shipping Supervisor serves as a frontline supervisor, providing team leadership and functional expertise to the packing, shipping, cutback and fabrication employees.
Job Responsibilities
- Verifies that material is being packed to customer specifications;
- Verifies that paperwork and tickets are being properly completed;
- Reports any and all equipment issues to the Maintenance Department;
- Oversees and or conducts training of new or existing employees to include work methods and procedures, employee handbook, safety training;
- Provides employees with timely and accurate feedback of performance reviews, disciplinary problems, material shortages, and equipment problems etc. when required or appropriate;
- Retention, training and continued development of hourly associates;
- Interfaces with team members on a daily basis and act as the first line of command in resolving problems and maintaining efficient, orderly workflow;
- Ensures on-time delivery, management of the flow of materials and control of inventory;
- Adheres to product and customer specifications;
- Ensures accurate and timely production reporting;
- Creates and maintains a plant floor environment that promotes safety and the safe operation of processes;
- Maintains and improves high quality levels by ensuring that all work processes are performed correctly and accurately;
- Performs other required tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma and two year degree preferred;
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience;
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in manufacturing and quality assurance;
- Ability to work additional hours and shifts based on business needs;
- Strong leadership skills;
- Open to progression and continuous improvement;
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills;
- Strong knowledge of extrusion packing and shipping requirements preferred;
- Proficiency using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Access);
- Highly detail-oriented;
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
