Overview

The Packing and Shipping Supervisor serves as a frontline supervisor, providing team leadership and functional expertise to the packing, shipping, cutback and fabrication employees.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Verifies that material is being packed to customer specifications;
  • Verifies that paperwork and tickets are being properly completed;
  • Reports any and all equipment issues to the Maintenance Department;
  • Oversees and or conducts training of new or existing employees to include work methods and procedures, employee handbook, safety training;
  • Provides employees with timely and accurate feedback of performance reviews, disciplinary problems, material shortages, and equipment problems etc. when required or appropriate;
  • Retention, training and continued development of hourly associates;
  • Interfaces with team members on a daily basis and act as the first line of command in resolving problems and maintaining efficient, orderly workflow;
  • Ensures on-time delivery, management of the flow of materials and control of inventory;
  • Adheres to product and customer specifications;
  • Ensures accurate and timely production reporting;
  • Creates and maintains a plant floor environment that promotes safety and the safe operation of processes;
  • Maintains and improves high quality levels by ensuring that all work processes are performed correctly and accurately;
  • Performs other required tasks as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma and two year degree preferred;
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience;
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in manufacturing and quality assurance;
  • Ability to work additional hours and shifts based on business needs;
  • Strong leadership skills;
  • Open to progression and continuous improvement;
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills;
  • Strong knowledge of extrusion packing and shipping requirements preferred;
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Access);
  • Highly detail-oriented;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
