Overview

 

The Quality Manager promotes, develops, and oversees compliance of the company quality system.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Collects data from manufacturing processes, monitors process capability, and identifies key areas for improvement;
  • Improves reliability of new product development processes;
  • Maintains company quality standards;
  • Reviews products, processes and systems on an ongoing basis to determine where improvements can be made;
  • Oversees the product manufacturing process to ensure quality;
  • Actively participates in production meetings with the manufacturing team;
  • Collects and reports data for key quality objectives (% Scrap/Pound, Internal & External Quality Costs);
  • Visits and tracks suppliers as needed to achieve issue resolution/closure in timely manner;
  • Qualifies potential suppliers;
  • Tracks customer complaints and organizes responses to resolve customer concerns;
  • Tracks problem solving activities including implementation dates and monitor effectiveness of actions;
  • Daily tracks internal problem-solving activities including implementation dates and monitor effectiveness of actions;
  • Issues Quality Alerts and follows-up on Corrective Actions;
  • Develops tracking system for Quality Alerts, Corrective Actions, and SCAR’s;
  • Supports generation of SPC templates for Press Data Collection for Product Improvement;
  • Collects data from manufacturing processes, monitors process capability, and identifies key areas for improvement;
  • Serves as a quality auditor and compiles all audit results;
  • Performs other required tasks as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field;
  • Minimum of seven years experience in manufacturing and quality assurance;
  • Understanding of ISO 9000, 140001 etc. implementation;
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma);
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Access);
  • Highly detail-oriented;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
