Overview
The Fabrication Associate is responsible for assembling kit components, operating and maintaining the Met’l cut the length saw and other fabrication machines as developments advance.
Job Responsibilities
- Reviews and follows all Standard Operating procedures for processes;
- Efficiently operates the Met’l Cut to length saw on a daily basis;
- Performs weekly maintenance of the saw including blade changes, lubrication checks, alignment inspections, and length calibration, etc.;
- Tracks and maintains Met’l saw spare and consumable parts inventory to prevent downtime;
- Assembles kits to customer specifications in a safe and timely manner;
- Maintains traceability and account for all pieces in Epics software;
- Tags and tickets finished goods accurately;
- Develops pack specs to optimize efficiencies between packing and fabrication departments;
- Ensures that all quality objectives are followed and met;
- Safely operates equipment in fabrication and packing areas as production demands are determined;
- Reports and reviews any unusual condition with supervisor, quality or manager;
- Maintains department 5s condition;
- Actively works to correct any unsafe conditions;
- Reports on production results and department measurable during daily meetings;
- Participates in problem-solving activities within teams for improvements;
- Uses lean tools to drive safety, quality and productivity improvement;
- Performs other required tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma;
- Minimum 1-2 years manufacturing experience;
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, hot and cold;
- Ability to skillfully and safely operate a forklift;
- Solid communication skills;
- Ability to work in a team environment;
- Maintain the production pace of other team members;
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs;
- Ability to work 12-hour shift, EOWEO schedule.
