Overview

The Die Shop Manager provides professional technical expertise to the development of new product designs by securing and implementing tooling resources needed for extrusion production.

Job Responsibilities

• Reviews new product tooling designs for feasibility and manufacturability issues.
• Works with New Product Launch and Engineering staff to ensure procurement of appropriate dies
• Sources tooling suppliers for new tooling programs and for the repair of existing tools
• Conducts and manages testing, trials of new dies to ensure quality product
• Leads die shop and supervises the work of die technicians
• Identifies and implements opportunities for improvement
• Provides for and ensures training of associates to provide career path and growth
• Direct work of team members and monitor project completion
• Train team members on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

• Performs other required tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or related field required
• Aluminum extrusion tool & die experience required
• Proficient in the use of MS Office programs required
• Knowledge of EPICS MRP system preferred
• CAD experience preferred
• Excellent organizational skills with a strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized, prefer experience working in an ISO

environment, and strong understanding of SPC systems

• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Understanding of extrusion, tool and die process with 5-10 years’ experience required
• 10-15 years’ experience working within an aluminum extrusion production environment preferred
